Simon Cowell is considering stepping down from his U.K. show Britain’S Got Talent – insisting the TV series "can work without" him.
The music mogul heads up the judging panel on the reality show, alongside TV personality Amanda Holden and journalist Piers Morgan.
The series made a star of Susan Boyle last year (09) – but Cowell admits he’s becoming tired of watching wannabes audition for him.
He says, “I am looking at BGT and whether I take on a different role, maybe come in at a later stage. I like the show but it takes up a hell of a lot of time.
“Sometimes, you sit there watching horrific acts and you think ‘I can’t do this anymore’. But then you look back and think ‘Actually, that was fun’.”
And Cowell, who will quit his judging role on American Idol this year (10) to concentrate on launching The X Factor in the U.S., reveals he wants a smaller part in the show: “I am considering next year coming just for the semi-finals. The show can work without me.”
