Davies Refused To Leave Festival Stage

The Kinks legend Ray Davies defied organisers of a U.K. music festival who attempted to curtail his set ahead of Bob Dylan’s performance – by cursing and refusing to leave the stage.

The rocker played to 30,000 fans at the Hop Farm festival in Kent, England on Saturday (03Jul10) but was allegedly asked to cut short his gig to ensure headliner Dylan appeared on time, reports Britain’s Daily Express.

But a rebellious Davies stood firm and snubbed their warnings, before shouting out to the crowd, “F**k it, I’ll play for as long as I want.”

The Waterloo Sunset hitmaker went on to conclude his set with a lengthy version of The Kinks’ hit Lola.
