Nicole Kidman has been crowned Australia’s most fashionable star after landing two prizes at the country’s InStyle Awards in Sydney.
The actress won InStyle magazine’s Readers’ Choice trophy, as well as topping the news/entertainment category.
Kidman was unable to attend the event as she is busy filming new movie Just Go With It with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler, but recorded a video message to be played at the ceremony in which she dedicated her awards to her mother, Janelle.
She said, “I grew up in a family of women who are very strong and wonderfully opinionated. My mother was such a huge influence on me – and my education. She encouraged me to have a voice and ultimately to give back, so to then be recognized for that makes me very, very proud. It’s something I want to continue doing.
“Style means having a voice. It means not compromising who you are because of what people say. It means standing proud and knowing that sometimes you are going to go in and out of fashion, but still, staying true to yourself.”
