Cyndi Lauper has teamed up with colourful thespian Harvey Fierstein to pen a new Broadway musical.
Based on cult British film Kinky Boots, the production revolves around two men who make shoes for transvestites.
The 2005 movie featured Joel Edgerton as a struggling shoemaker and Chiwetel Ejiofor as a drag queen, who helps revive the family footwear business.
