Veteran British actor Sir Ian Mckellen had a brush with death while filming a new U.K. TV show – a quad bike almost ran him over.
The Lord of the Rings star was shooting a remake of classic 1960s British TV drama The Prisoner in the Namibian desert in South Africa.
The 70 year old was riding the bike through the sand dunes, when he fell off the vehicle – and it almost collided with the star.
He says, “Coming behind me was this quad bike – it missed me by inches.”
His co-star, English actress Ruth Wilson, adds, “It was the best stunt move I’d seen.”
McKellen was left with a small cut following the accident.
