Gossip Girl star Ed Westwick has shot down speculation he is preparing to leave the hit teen show, after recently revealing he was "ready to do something else".

Fans of the British actor were devastated after he admitted in an interview with Tatler magazine that he feels he should move on from the series after doing all he could with his sly character Chuck Bass.

But the star insists he simply wants to take on projects outside of the show and has no plans to leave in the near future.

He tells OK!, “That was kind of taken out of context. What I actually said was that I wanted to maximise my time, but I had agreed to do other projects as well.

“I’m having a fantastic time with Gossip Girl, (it’s a) great character, great cast and I live in New York City.”

Film producer Ryan Kavanaugh made his Super Bowl Sunday extra-special – by proposing to his girlfriend during half-time.

The moviemaker treated his dancer partner Britta Lazenga to a trip to Dallas, Texas at the weekend (05-06Feb11) to see her favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, play.

The side lost out on the title to the Green Bay Packers – but Kavanaugh ensured her day was memorable for all the right reasons after popping the question, according to TheWrap.com.

He tells the website, “I’m engaged!”

A producer behind one of the upcoming Snow White movies has confirmed Julia Roberts is on board to play the fairy tale maiden’s evil stepmother.

It was rumored earlier this month (Feb11) that film bosses behind The Brothers Grimm: Snow White were eager for Roberts to play the wicked queen in the movie.

Now producer Ryan Kavanaugh has revealed Roberts has signed up to play the mirror-questioning queen.

He says, “Julia was our first and only choice to play the queen. She is an icon. We know that she will make this role her own in a way that no one else could.”

Roberts will have to rival Charlize Theron’s portrayal of the villainous character – the Monster star has been cast in Snow White and the Huntsman.
