Gwyneth Paltrow has turned allergy adviser in the latest post on her GOOP.com Internet newsletter.
The actress has called on allergy and Chinese medicine expert Adele Reising to offer tips about how to avoid sneezing and runny eyes this spring.
Paltrow admits she’s among those who suffer from allergies and she uses Reising’s detox methods to keep discomfort down to a minimum.
Reising’s tips include eating more asparagus and other “fresh young greens” because they “activate the liver system”.
She writes, “Since the liver is the organ system associated with springtime and it corresponds to the tendons and muscles, stretching or practising yoga, is good to activate this energy. It also corresponds to the head and neck, and it is easy to get allergies, and stiff necks and headaches in the springtime.”
Reising adds, “If you are an allergy sufferer, I recommend avoiding mucus producing foods, such as dairy, wheat, sugar, and cold raw foods and also taking a probiotic. This will help minimize allergy attacks in most people.”
