Martin’s Lost Photos Returned By Train Staff

Chris Martin of Coldplay

Coldplay rocker Chris Martin has been reunited with a handful of private family photos of him and wife Gwyneth Paltrow after his father lost them on a train.

Railway manager Matt Fearn recognized the stars when he looked through the snaps, which he found in the pocket of a jacket belonging to Martin’s dad Anthony, who had left the coat behind on a train travelling through Devon, England.

Fearn began looking for relatives of Martin, who hails from nearby Exeter, and contacted a local newspaper for help.

Martin’s grateful dad Anthony responded – and he’s now heaping praise on the honest train employee.

He tells Britain’s Sunday Express, “I’m very impressed with the initiative of the lost property office and Matt Fearn in particular, who thought to rummage around in the pockets to try and identify who the jacket belonged to when it had no name in it.

“I thank him very much for taking the trouble and now I shan’t be in the dog house for losing some rather important family photos.”

Coldplay Apologize For Glee Snub

Chris Martin of Coldplay

British rockers Coldplay have issued an apology to the makers of Glee for turning down a request to use their music on the program – and they have backtracked by giving producers access to their full catalogue.

Creator Ryan Murphy asked the Yellow hitmakers if he could showcase their songs for a special episode, but the band turned him down.

After the success of a Madonna tribute show in April (10), the rockers have now admitted to Murphy they “were wrong” to have snubbed the opportunity and have offered him full use of their entire music catalogue.

Murphy tells The Hollywood Reporter, “At the beginning a lot of people didn’t know what we were and asked to see pages (in advance), but I refused because I didn’t want to set precedent of them having any involvement. My favorite rejection was Bryan Adams. Coldplay and Bryan Adams were really the only rejections. But Coldplay called a week ago and said, ‘We’re sorry, you can have our catalogue’.”

Coldplay Go To Bat For Village Cricket Team

Chris Martin of Coldplay

Rockers Coldplay have agreed to sponsor a village cricket team in England.

Frontman Chris Martin and his bandmates agreed to support Gloucestershire County League team Slaughters United after club secretary Paul Heming wrote to bass player Guy Berryman asking for financial help.

Berryman, who had previously sponsored a nearby rugby team, is a huge sports fan and was only too happy to help, offering to pay for the team’s strip.

Spinner.com reports cricket fan Martin has links to the area too – he once played for nearby team Great Rissington in his youth.

It is not known if Coldplay will be visiting the village team, but Martin can count out his wife Gwyneth Paltrow if he plans a trip to the Cotswolds – she’s not a fan of the sport.

In a recent interview, she revealed cricket leaves her cold: “I do not understand cricket at all… It is so impossible to understand. It’s crazy.”

Coldplay’s new team is already enjoying success – in their first game sporting the band’s name on their whites, Slaughters beat St Phillips North by 69 runs.
