Blige Launches Perfume In Florida

Mary J. Blige has become the latest celebrity perfumer after unveiling her own fragrance at a fashion conference in Florida.

The No More Drama hitmaker recently announced she was teaming up with Carol’s Daughter to create a scent titled My Life.

She said, “It is the epitome of a confident woman. It doesn’t scream out for attention – it’s feminine but strong, powerful yet humble. It is… my life.”

Blige launched the product at the Women’s Wear Daily Beauty CEO Summit in Palm Beach on Tuesday (11May10) and admitted the perfume had been months in the making – because she refused to settle for a less-than-perfect product.

She told the audience, “Creating my fragrance was very empowering. To put my name behind something I created means everything.”

Explaining the perfume delay, she added, “I’d rather have my good name than your money.”

My Life, a floral blend with ingredients including gardenia, freesia, pear, jasmine and lily, will be sold exclusively on online shopping network HSN.com for $46, with $1 from every sale being donated to Blige’s female empowerment organization, the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN).

Blige joins the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyonce, Halle Berry and Britney Spears, who are each enjoying the sweet smell of success with their own signature scents.

Berry Split From Aubry Months Ago – Report

Halle Berry split from her longterm boyfriend Gabriel Aubry months before the news broke in the press, according to new reports.

The French-Canadian model confirmed widespread speculation he and the actress have gone their separate ways on Saturday (01May10), amid rumours Berry ended the relationship.

A source tells People.com, “She kicked him out months ago because he wasn’t able to pull his weight in the relationship and she wanted to move on.”

A spokesperson for Berry, who has a two-year-old daughter named Nahla with Aubry, adds, “(They) have been split for some time, but they remain close friends and committed parents to their daughter.”

Aubry Confirms Berry Split

Halle Berry’s longterm boyfriend Gabriel Aubry has confirmed he’s split from the actress – describing the break-up as "sad".

The twice-married Monster’s Ball star has been dating the French-Canadian model since 2005, and she gave birth to the couple’s first child, daughter Nahla, now two, in 2008.

Reports circulated on Friday (30Apr10) suggesting the pair have gone their separate ways – and now Aubry has spoken out, revealing the couple has decided to finish its relationship.

In a statement released to Access Hollywood, Aubry says, “While I will not comment on all of the wild inaccuracies being speculated about in the media, I am sad to say that Halle and I have decided together to separate at this time.

“She is, and will forever be, one of the most special and beautiful people that I have ever known, and I am certain that we will continue to have only love and respect for one another.”

TMZ.com reported the couple worked out a “very short-term custody arrangement” for their daughter three weeks ago, and Aubry is adamant Nahla is their top priority, adding: “Her happiness and well-being are the most important thing for both of us. Please respect our privacy during this very difficult time.”

Berry was previously married to former baseball player David Justice, but the three-year union ended in 1993. She divorced her second husband, musician Eric Benet, in 2005.

Halle Berry has split from her longtime partner Gabriel Aubry, according to U.S. reports.

The twice-married Hollywood actress has been dating the French-Canadian model since 2005, and she gave birth to the couple’s first child, daughter Nahla, now two, in 2008.

The couple reportedly worked out a “very short-term custody arrangement” for their daughter three weeks ago, according to TMZ.com.

The Monster’s Ball star was previously married to former baseball player David Justice, but the three-year union ended in 1993. Berry divorced her second husband, musician Eric Benet, in 2005.

The Oscar-winner previously stated she had “no plans” to marry Aubry, insisting their relationship “worked” without an official commitment.

Jolie Glamour Shots A Big Hit At Auction

Modelling shots of a teenage Angelina Jolie were big hits at a vintage Hollywood photo auction last weekend (26-27Mar10), selling for more than six times their expected sale price.

The early photos of a 15-year-old Jolie were part of Profiles in History’s Vintage Glamour Photography auction.

Some of the Harry Langdon shots were featured in a lot that also included rare shots of Raquel Welch, Halle Berry, Richard Burton, George Clooney and Farrah Fawcett. These went under the hammer for $122,400 (GBP76,500).

But other Jolie pictures were sold separately and became highlights of the sale.

A Profiles in History spokesman says, “They garnered much bidding interest. They sold individually for over $2,500 each – more than six times their expected sale price.”

Other highlights included an iconic shot of actress Jean Harlow posing on a bear rug, shot by George Hurrell for Vanity Fair, which sold for $60,000 (GBP37,500).
