Young To Star In Soap Opera

Sean Young

Blade Runner star Sean Young is making the transition to daytime TV – she’s landed a role on soap opera The Young And The Restless.

The actress is set to follow in the footsteps of James Franco, who joined General Hospital last year (09), and Julianne Moore who recently returned to As the World Turns for a guest appearance 12 years after she quit the show.

Young’s story arc, which begins filming next month (May10), will reunite her with actor Eric Braeden, her co-star in 2007 Civil War drama The Man Who Came Back.

And Young admits she’s excited about her upcoming soap debut, telling People.com, “Getting the chance to work with my dear friend Eric Braeden, one of the true gentlemen in entertainment, was certainly a deciding factor for me – as well as wanting to get back to work after taking a few years off to raise my kids.”

Young’s episodes will begin airing in June (10) – shortly before David Hasselhoff makes his comeback on the soap which launched his career.

Moore: ‘Talk To Your Husband About Infidelity Suspicions’

Actress Julianne Moore urges married women not to follow her character’s lead in new film Chloe – and hire hookers to trap potential cheating husbands.

The Hours star insists it’s always best to confront your partner if you suspect infidelity – before turning to others for help.

In Chloe, Moore hires a prostitute, portrayed by Amanda Seyfried, to test her husband (Liam Neeson).

But the actress hopes suspicious women don’t take the movie home with them.

She says, “Having been married for a long time and having friends who were married a long time I can’t tell you the phone calls I’ve gotten from somebody saying, ‘Listen, I have to talk to you about this because I think he’s doing X.’

“You say to them, ‘Have you talked to him about it?’ and they haven’t. I think women do that a lot. I think we turn to our friends and say, ‘He was out really late? Do you think he’s seeing somebody?’

“I think there is a tendency within relationships to sometimes turn out for information with a girlfriend before you talk to your husband about it. I have seen that a lot; people asking outside the marriage for advice.”

Moore has been married to second husband Bart Freundlich since 2003.

Moore’s Soap Return Bittersweet

Actress Julianne Moore was thrilled to get the chance to return to the TV soap where she began her acting career – so she could thank her old castmates and friends before the show was axed.

The Hours star, who played sisters Frannie and Sabrina Hughes on As The World Turns in the mid-1980s, was upset when she heard the long-running show was ending and signed up to appear in one of the final shows.

She tells WENN, “There is no time continuum in soaps, so I just came back as one of the sisters. The other one was stuck somewhere else!

“As The World Turns was my first big job and everyone was wonderful and incredibly professional and very supportive and loving. It was a great job for me, so when they said the show was ending it was incredibly sad because you don’t want to see anything end like that.

“I was happy to go back and glad to be there near the end of it. I was glad to see the people who played my parents and the woman who played my sister and to see a couple of the crew members who were still there. It was cool to be able to have that opportunity and to thank people.”

Seyfried Bans Dad From Steamy New Film

Amanda Seyfried

Mamma Mia! star Amanda Seyfried has banned her father from seeing her latest movie because it features intimate scenes with both sexes.

The actress admits she had no problems with her mother seeing the film, Chloe, at its premiere – but her dad wasn’t allowed to be there.

She tells WENN, “My mum can see whatever she pleases but I actually gave strict rules to my father to not come. He would normally come to my premiere and I am not comfortable with that.

“If he ever does see this film, he’s gonna have to see it in clips. I just don’t want to share it with him for a lot of obvious reasons.”

And Seyfried admits that watching the film with her mother sitting next to her at the Toronto Film Festival in Canada was tough enough, especially when her escort character had a lesbian encounter with co-star Julianne Moore.

She recalls, “I didn’t know what to do with my hands when the love scene with Julianne was on.

“I usually cover my eyes when I’m doing something questionable but this was really awkward. I really couldn’t wrap my head around how I’m supposed to behave or what I’m supposed to feel with that.”

And the young star admits shooting the scene was just as awkward as watching it.

She adds, “Usually I’m no stranger to having a drink before an intimate scene, but this was something we were working on for hours and I had to be focused.

“It was really scary and the day before we did the love scene, we had it choreographed with the two stand-ins. Then I understood it was going to be a slow-moving delicate piece and it was; it turned out to be that and it was also revealing. It’s not a PG scene. It’s realistic. It doesn’t cut off right when it’s about to explode.”
