Robbie Williams’ father is adamant his newly-engaged son is not planning to wed any time soon – insisting the pop star is refusing to "rush into marriage".
The British singer is said to have proposed to his actress girlfriend Ayda Field over the Christmas holidays (09) and was rumoured to be planning a Valentine’s Day wedding (14Feb10).
But the nuptials never materialised, and although Williams’ dad Pete Conway admits his son is engaged, he’s convinced talk of an imminent wedding is inaccurate.
Conway says, “He isn’t planning a wedding. He hasn’t sat down and worked out a date. He will do it himself when he wants to. He’s not taking any pressure from anyone. There’s no hurry. There is no date. Rob’s not rushing into this. It’s not by any means worked out. It’s if, not when, with this wedding.”
